The Colors of Northern Lights
Our Northern Lights Barn Quilt is painted in Prairie Paints, with a palette of Castle Creek, Juniper Berry, Pigeon Cove, Maple Sap, Indian Paint Brush, Old Crow, White Linen, Pumpkin Patch, Old Wine Barrel, and Honeycomb.
Together, these colors give the design a balance of depth, warmth, and light. I love how the palette feels connected to the landscape...the garden, the changing leaves, and those quiet moments when the sky becomes the most beautiful part of the day.
A Barn Quilt to Make Your Own
One of my favorite things about barn quilts is the way the same pattern can tell a different story through color. Our painted Northern Lights offers one interpretation, while the Northern Lights pattern gives you a starting place for your own.
You might follow our Prairie Paint palette or choose colors that remind you of a place you love. Perhaps it is the garden outside your window, an autumn drive, or a collection of favorite shades you have been waiting to use.
There is pleasure in that process: choosing your colors, watching the pattern emerge, and stepping back to see what you have made. Each brushstroke becomes part of the finished piece, and each color choice makes it feel more like yours.
A Little Color for the Everyday
A barn quilt has a way of making a space feel personal. It draws the eye, starts a conversation, and carries the care that went into creating it.
Northern Lights is a celebration of that everyday beauty, the kind we can bring into our homes and the kind we can create with our own hands. Its name may call us to look up at the sky, but its colors invite us to notice the beauty all around us, too.
