Last week we had our first snow, which at the Hicks' home, means we make Snickerdoodles! I have had a few requests for this recipe this week...so here it is. I've tried several recipes and by far this one is the best!!!
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Butter Flavored Shortening
3 Cups White Sugar
4 Large Eggs
1 Tsp. Vanilla
2 Tsp. Baking Soda
4 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1/2 Tsp. Salt
6 Cups Flour
Cream butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla and eggs until light and fluffy (you can't overbeat this!) Add dry ingredients. Make into small balls and roll in a cinnamon and sugar mixture (1 cup Sugar and 2 Tsp. Cinnamon). Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes...and be prepared for the ulitmate yummiest cookie!
PS -- You may want to have hot chocolate ready and waiting!
