I had a piece of Michael Miller's fabric that I have been holding onto....loved this piece....and wanted to do something original with it. I backed it with cotton batting and hand stitched around all of the outlines of the art.
It took a little while to do this...but I needed something mindless I could do while sitting at the pool with my kids. Once the stitching was finished, I backed it with black velvet and added some long fringie trim....stuffed and added vintage buttons.
I had so much fun adding lace and pearls that were remnants from a dress and some jewelry we had made together....I added a locket with a picture of her....
...and lastly her name which was made using sliders that I found at Hobby Lobby in the scrap booking section.
I made sure to leave lots of room for her to add her own special memento's. It is a super easy project that I will for sure do again...and may do soon for my other daughters....as I plan to spend a lot of time this summer at the pool!
Tina is on her way home to Utah from Arizona and I am so excited to hug her and show her this little or big :) treat on her bed.
I hope you are enjoying your summer too!
