Simply Vintage

Today is the day the Autumn 2017 issue of Simply Vintage #24 hits the newsstands and we are so excited to have one favorite exclusive samplers featured in it!  This is one of my favorite magazines.  The pages are chocked full of designers, vintage goodies and patterns for all kinds of projects you can make yourself.

We re-designed an exclusive one of our most popular embroidery patterns for this issue.  Families are Like Quilts has been stitched by so many, but this pattern was adapted to stitch with heirloom pieces.  I stitched the borders from an antique quilt made from men's ties.  The quilt is hand stitched and I was nervous to finish the back because I wanted to preserve the original stitching.  I also added two hand crocheted dollies  in the corners for extra history and texture.

You will find the pattern for the embroidery and tips for using vintage quilts and pieces in the finishing in this issue of Simply Vintage.  If there was ever an embroidery pattern to add vintage embellishment to it would be this one.  Families are stitched together by bringing the past, the present and future together.  We hope you enjoy this project!

You can find it now at most quilt shops, hobby shops, book stores and at Quilt Mania.  Go pick up a copy today and enjoy this first Autumn weekend.
